USGS Streamflow Data
The U.S. Geological Survey operates and maintains a network of nearly 200 real-time streamflow and lake-level gages across the State. SCDES funds 42 gages, 26 of which are new monitoring stations currently being installed by the USGS. All 26 new gages are expected to be operational by July 2020. Data from these sites are used to support drought assessments, flood and emergency response actions, recreational activities, hydrologic modeling, and water planning activities in the State.
