Scott Willett has been the Executive Director at Anderson Regional Joint Water System for over 19 years. Anderson Regional Water is a regional drinking water provider to 14-member water agencies serving over 200,000 people. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations, he has specifically sought to work in planning and protecting water resources to sustainably and reliably serve its customers and promote a vibrant economy. He has been an advocate for stakeholder driven state water resource planning since the adoption of the Surface Water Withdrawal, Permitting, Use, and Reporting Act in 2010, recently having served on the Planning Process Advisory Committee and the Upper Savannah River Basin Advisory Council. He serves on the State Drought Response Committee representing water systems and the upper Savannah River. He has led the Joint Water System’s efforts to increase its water storage agreements with the Corps of Engineers to ensure future reliability for the region’s growing economy. Willett serves as a founding member and the Executive Director of the Lake Hartwell Partnership for Clean Water which seeks to promote the overall health of Lake Hartwell, the Corps of Engineers second most visited lake in the US. He has served on numerous national committees professionally. Willett attended Clemson University and Southern Illinois University. Prior to returning to SC, he worked in water resources in Arizona, California and military water planning nationwide.
