Rupi Grewal oversees the agency's Legislative Affairs operations and Office of Communications.  

Prior to beginning his service as Chief External Affairs Officer with SCDES, Rupi led the Legislative Affairs, Communications, and Project Management efforts at the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.  He also served eight years as Assistant General Counsel with the former DHEC’s Office of General Counsel. Rupi began his career as an Associate Attorney with Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell, LLP in Washington, DC. Rupi’s educational background includes undergraduate (Bachelor of Business Administration) and graduate degrees (Master of Public Health) from Emory University and law degree (JD) from The George Washington University School of Law.
