Email Outage: Sept. 6 - 9

The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services migrated email services over the weekend and staff were unable to send or receive messages from 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 until 7:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9. Thank you for your patience as our team works to respond to any messages received during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we make this transition to better serve you in the future.

Have you just realized that you failed to follow the law in setting up or operating your business? Are you conducting an activity that you now realize needed a DHEC registration, license or permit prior to startup?

It's your duty to bring your business into compliance, and you will need to apply for and receive the required permits, licenses and/or certifications to continue operations.

By voluntarily notifying DHEC of violations, you may qualify for immunity from monetary penalties under the South Carolina Environmental Audit Privilege and Voluntary Self-Disclosure Act. Even if you do not qualify for penalty waiver under the Act, by self-reporting and cooperating with DHEC you may receive consideration for a reduction in the penalties associated with the violations.
