As we are currently activated in response to Hurricane Dorian, this will be the last update until after the storm passes and we return to normal operations.
Latest Update
The EPA has secured the site in anticipation of Hurricane Dorian. Their response team will return following the storm. Air monitoring equipment will be reinstalled once conditions are safe.
SCDES urges citizens to prepare for the storm and to follow evacuation recommendations.
The South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SC EMD) has a mobile phone app called “SC EMD” that is available in the App Store and on Google Play. The app contains important resources related to storm preparedness, as well as real time information regarding evacuations and closings. We encourage you to download it and make use of this tool in your storm preparations.
