Pinewood Site Public Availability Session

SCDES - will hold a public availability session on Thursday, February 20, 2025, to discuss and accept written comments on a draft renewal RCRA hazardous waste permit for post-closure care activities at the Pinewood Site. The public availability session will begin at 6:00 PM at Furman Middle School located at 3400 Bethel Church Road in Sumter, SC.

The public availability session is informal and provides an opportunity for participants to move around the room and have discussions with SCDES staff about the Pinewood Site and the environmental permitting process. The Trustee of the Pinewood Site Custodial Trust will also be available at the public availability session to hear any concerns and answer questions with SCDES staff. Written comments on the draft renewal RCRA hazardous waste permit will be accepted at the meeting.
