SCDNR Drills Two New Wells for Groundwater Monitoring Network

Two new monitoring wells were drilled—one at Cheraw State Park in Chesterfield County and the other at the SCDNR Wateree Range in Richland County. Both wells are completed in the McQueen Branch aquifer and will be instrumented with automated water-level recorders to monitor groundwater levels in these areas. The wells will be part of the SCDNR Groundwater Monitoring Network, a network of wells used to assess groundwater availability in the State.
