The Groundwater Protection Program is part of the Division of Monitoring, Assessment, and Protection in the Bureau of Water.
A product of the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services, the SC Watershed Atlas application is designed to provide information about SCDES Bureau of Water permits, monitoring, and assessment activities within your watershed.
SCDES’s Watersheds Program supports the goals of the Clean Water Act in the state’s eight major river basins: Savannah, Saluda, Edisto, Salkehatchie, Broad, Catawba, Santee, and Pee Dee. Through a non-regulatory approach, the program serves as a water quality information and watershed planning resource to stakeholders, provides technical support to the Section 319 Nonpoint Source (NPS) Grants program, and manages the SC Watershed Atlas.

The Office of Rural Water (ORW) collaborates with local and national partners in adapting to changing infrastructures and providing technical assistance to small rural water systems. ORW works to support new, long-term solutions to aging systems.
