On June 6, 2024, DHEC (now SCDES) held a public meeting to present DHEC’s Preferred Cleanup Plan to address contamination at the CSXT Bramlett Road Site, Greenville, South Carolina. The meeting was held at Mountain View Baptist Church at 111 Cagle Street in Greenville, SC and was also broadcast for those who wished to attend virtually.

SCDES takes its role of protecting public health and the environment very seriously.  We welcome the opportunity to have meaningful dialogue with all of our stakeholders as we continue our efforts with this complex project that affects a unique and beloved natural resource of our state.  We encourage interested persons to stay involved by attending meetings, asking questions, and submitting comments.

On March 3, 2022, DHEC participated in a community meeting with Mountain View Baptist Church in Greenville to provide updates on the voluntary cleanup of the Bramlett Road site. On January 13, 2021, DHEC participated in a community meeting with Mountain View Baptist Church in Greenville where DHEC, CSX Transportation, and Duke Energy provided updates on the voluntary cleanup of the Bramlett Road site. On February 8th, 2020, DHEC presented an Update of remedial investigation work that has taken place at the CSXT Bramlett Road site at the Mountain View Baptist Church Community Meeting.  DHEC along with Duke Energy and CSX Transportation representatives provided updates as well as answered questions and concerns from those in attendance.
