Overview

In December 2025, The Santee River Basin Plan was completed by the Santee River Basin Council under the guidance of the South Carolina State Water Planning Framework. Formal council meetings began in December 2024, and the council met on a monthly basis over a year period to work on the plan. The River Basin Plan includes a review of surface and ground water availability over a 50-year planning horizon and documents water management strategies that will help ensure water is available for all future uses. Meeting agendas, presentations, recordings, and summaries can be accessed on the main Santee River Basin Meetings page.
