The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services - Bureau of Water has scheduled a public hearing for application P/N# SAC-2025-00032, Horry County Solid Waste Authority, for an expansion of the existing Horry County Solid Waste Management Facility south of and adjacent to SC Highway 90 near the City of Conway, Horry County, South Carolina. The expansion would result in impacts to 102.4 acres of jurisdictional wetlands 76.6 of which are currently held in restrictive covenants. These freshwater wetlands are associated with Steritt Swamp.
This public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 6:00 PM at Carolina Forest Recreation Center Multipurpose Rooms A&B, 2254 Carolina Forest Blvd, Myrtle Beach, Horry County, South Carolina.
