SCDES Lifts Temporary Swim Advisories for Sections of Beach on Pawleys Island and Debordieu Beach

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Sections of beach along South Carolina's coast are no longer under temporary swim advisories, the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) reported today.
The affected areas were:
near the access point at Hazard St (station WAC-045A) on Pawleys Island in Georgetown County. Bacteria levels have returned to normal.
near the access point at Luvan Way (station WAC-047) on Debordieu Beach in Georgetown County. Bacteria levels have returned to normal.
SCDES routinely collects water samples at more than 120 locations along South Carolina's beaches to monitor bacteria levels. Please visit des.sc.gov/beachmonitoring for more information and to view recent water sampling results along the coast.
