In June 2022, Act 234 went into effect making revisions to Title 48, Chapter 60. Section 48-60-180 requires a stakeholder group to be initiated on June 1, 2026, with SCDES submitting a final report on our findings to the Legislature by January 15, 2027. The Act amendments have a sunset date of December 31, 2029 unless additional amendments are made. 

The first stakeholder meeting was held virtually on June 11, 2026. The initial group consisted of the 5 group plans, 5 recoverers, and a few selected counties. Additional stakeholder meetings are in being planned with additional group members, with one meeting planned for industry representatives and a meeting planned for all county representatives. Below is an estimated timeline of the stakeholder process.
