Keeping Good Food Moving Forward

Don’t Waste Food SC is proud to partner with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Feed It Onward initiative to help prevent food waste, recover surplus food, and keep edible food moving toward people who need it.

Why This Partnership Matters

Food waste is an opportunity.

When good food goes to waste, so do the resources that went into producing, transporting, preparing and serving it.

At the same time, communities across South Carolina are working to ensure people have access to enough nutritious food.

That’s where food recovery can make a difference.

Feed It Onward brings together organizations working to move surplus food to its highest and best use. Don’t Waste Food SC supports that mission through education, partnerships and programs that help South Carolina prevent food waste and recover more food before it reaches the landfill.

Our Feed It Onward partnership builds on work we’re already doing across South Carolina.

Education

We develop educational materials, presentations, workshops and resources that give people practical ways to reduce food waste.

Schools

We work with schools to help students and educators understand food waste through programs such as food waste audits, Share Tables and other hands-on activities.

Businesses & Institutions

We work with organizations across sectors to identify food waste challenges and find practical solutions for prevention, donation and diversion.

Food waste is too big for one organization to solve alone. We bring together government, nonprofits, businesses, schools, food service organizations and communities to share ideas and build solutions.
