Overview
In June 2025, the Upper Savannah River Basin Plan was completed by the Upper Savannah River Basin Council under the guidance of the South Carolina State Water Planning Framework. Formal council meetings began in July 2023, and the council met on a monthly basis over a two and a half year period to work on the plan. The River Basin Plan includes a review of surface water availability over a 50-year planning horizon and documents water management strategies that will help ensure water is available for all future uses.
