Williamsburg County Class 2 Landfill Proposed Expansion Public Meeting

SCDES is holding an informal public meeting to discuss the Williamsburg County Class 2 Landfill proposed expansion and SCDES's Draft Determination of Need (DON) and Consistency. SCDES has made a draft determination that the proposed landfill expansion is consistent with requirements of the DON regulations, the Williamsburg County & State Solid Waste Management Plans as a commercial landfill, and buffer requirements. The Determination of Need and Consistency is the first step in the landfill permitting process. The public meeting is an opportunity to have a discussion with SCDES staff about the proposed project and will include a presentation and question & answer session. Interested persons are encouraged to attend to learn more about the proposed expansion and environmental permitting process.
