Draft Upper Savannah River Basin Plan Public Meeting

When: Monday, Apr 21, 2025 6:00pm - Monday, Apr 21, 2025 8:00pm
Where: Tri-County Technical College

The S.C. Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) invites residents to attend an upcoming meeting to review and provide comments about the draft Upper Savannah River Basin Plan. Public input is an integral part of the development of the plan, which will help identify best management practices for ensuring the Upper Savannah River basin has water resources available for all future users.

The draft plan was developed over a two-year period by the Upper Savannah River Basin Council, a working group of stakeholders with water interests in the basin, under the guidance of the South Carolina State Water Planning Framework published in 2019. This plan is the fourth of eight River Basin Plans scheduled to be completed over the next year for each of the eight planning basins in the State.

The draft Upper Savannah River Basin Plan includes an assessment of current and future water availability in the basin and documents water management strategies to help ensure water is available for all future uses in the basin for the next 50 years.

The public meeting is 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, April 21 at Tri-County Technical College, 511 Michelin Blvd., Anderson (Directions via Google Maps).

The meeting is as an opportunity for the Upper Savannah River Basin Council to solicit residents’ input about the draft plan. Public comments will be accepted from April 21-May 26; instructions for submitting comments are available on the website.
